Wailea Golf Club Kihei, HI Kihei, HI Full-time Full-time $75,000 a year $75,000 a year The role of the Golf Operations Manager is concerned with managing, organizing, developing and coordinating Golf operations to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
The golf operations are open for business 365 days a year from early morning to early evening and this position must work closely together with other golf operation supervisory personnel while continually reviewing and analyzing golf shop operational performance then recommending courses of action to ensure appropriate staffing coverage, to improve cost efficiency, employee productivity and expand the revenue base.
Primary Goals/
Responsibilities:
Manages, develops, trains, administers, monitors and implements premium level customer service programs and standards, which ultimately result in expanding the customer base and golf round revenues.
Reviews and analyzes operational performance and recommends courses of action to improve revenue generation, cost efficiency and employee productivity.
Monitors golf operations financial performance in relation to department's established goals.
Strive for financial self-sufficiency while providing the services, facilities and programs expected from a world class golf complex.
Exercises considerable judgment and foresight in balancing financial goals with operational goals.
Reviews daily sales analysis and discount reports via Point of Sale reports, to ensure proper recordation of sales; discounts given, rates, services provided, complimentary merchandise or services, damaged goods, etc and resolves the discrepancy.
Reviews monthly expenses from departmental trial balance.
Develop, communicate and implement plans to maximize financial performance to meet or exceed department goals and objectives.
Supervises, trains, motivates and counsels all golf operations staff to ensure that each guest is provided with the highest level of customer service in accordance with the Company's established standards.
Prepares or assists in the preparation of routine and non-routine financial and managerial reports to provide management with timely and meaningful information.
Supports retail merchandising operations and works with the retail buyer to address customer requests and improve staff selling techniques.
Maintains current knowledge of the needs and wants of the golf customer and the competition and continually interface with hotel personnel, resort visitors and guests, property owners and members.
Monitors and supports computerized systems and other equipment to ensure that they function properly and efficiently.
Monitors the maintenance, repair and utilization of rental golf clubs and shoes to ensure customer satisfaction for the purposes of increasing rental income.
Directs, monitors and administers the implementation of all standard safety regulations and safety programs to minimize industrial accidents and equipment damages.
Fosters an open and team environment to receive and disseminate direction, ideas and changes to all team members and appropriate business partners.
Other duties assigned by the Director of Golf or General Manager.
Qualifications/Skills:
Three (3) to five (5) years of Supervisory, management or leadership experience; in operating a resort golf course.
Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and organizational skills.
good leadership and training skills Good public contact, sales techniques and customer service skills.
Creativity in designing customer service and sales training programs helpful.
Experience in tournament coordination ability helpful.
Proficient computer skills; Excel, Word, Email, Internet, Social Media, P.

Physical Requirements of the Job:
Regularly involves talking to customers, general public, employees, and co-workers; concentration and alertness; attention to detail.
Frequently requires standing, walking, giving instructions, working in an air-conditioned building; talking to and supervising others, reading, writing/composing written language.
Occasionally involves, sitting, reaching, bending, twisting, climbing steps, kneeling, stooping, eye-hand-foot coordination, walking or commuting to visit/work at other work sites, pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying of up to 45-50 lbs.
(file cabinet drawers, golfer's bags with full set of golf clubs), operation of a golf cart and other utility vehicles, mathematical ability to read and complete financial reports, exposure to heat and sunlight, dust, dirt, golf balls in play, chemicals and fertilizers, wet, and other typical working conditions associated with working in a golf operations environment.
Visual capabilities required:
good to excellent vision, depth perception, wide field of vision, color vision.
Job experiences approximately 6 hours indoors and 1 hours outdoors.
